Mythical Men are a 5 piece Rock & Pop Covers band consisting of Kate White (Lead Vocals/guitar) Ric Bardsley (Lead Guitar), Kayimdin Khan (Bass Guitar), Rob Utley (Drums & percussion) & on keyboards, Gil - Ex-Floydian Doors.
Every MYTHICALS performance is geared towards getting a big old house party going.
With influences sucked up through four decades of rip roaring classics from artists such as Adele, Alanis Morissette, Pink, Shania Twain, Natalie Imbruglia & Janis Joplin, & powered out with stylish musicianship. The MYTHICALS show is more an event than a local gig!
Before Kate White recently joined us in our former life as Mythical Men, we headlined at The Purple Turtle for Oxjam Reading Takeover in October 2015 as well as performing at many other venues in the local area. A new video showing off Kate's abilities is under preparation but for now you can watch our headline live performance of Pink Floyd's 'Comfortably Numb'.

Complimenting this power-house is a dedicated brass section with 2 Trumpets and Tenor Sax who never fail to kick off every evening with a swing!
On the vocal front, our legendary main vocalist is joined by other singers within the band, who all perform great vocal harmonies.

An antidote to run-of-the-mill cover Bands, with well over 20 man-years of gigging experience in semi-professional functions Bands, we thought it was time to do something we all love doing.
We play mostly driving riff based rock, but colour it with a little soul and edgy pop. - Police, U2 Stevie Ray Vaughan, Philip Sayce, Orson, Little Feat to name but a few.
TERRY PEAKER - BASS GUITAR and BACKING VOCALS
A long and varied career has seen Terry work with Dana Gillespie, Doc Cox, The Walker Brothers, Geno Washington, Carvin Jones, Billy Ocean, Little Wing, Emile Ford and many more.
ROGER BREWER - DRUMS
When he's not keeping The Upper Cut in time with each other Roger plays for Lee Ryder's Ezee Ryder Blues Band. He has also roadied for the likes of Deep Purple and Marillion.
TERRY SULLIVAN - LEAD VOCALS and HARMONICA
Terry was the voice of The Chevrons for many years, and was also a member of Faces tribute band The Borstal Boys. He brings his distinctive vocals and stage presence to The Upper Cut.
LEIGH HEGGARTY - LEAD GUITAR and BACKING VOCALS
When The Upper Cut aren't looking Leigh also plays for Ruts D.C., T.V. Smith, Back To Zero, The Price, The Flying Squad, Big Al Reed and anyone else who will let him.
Roger, Terry P. and Leigh previously worked together in rhythm and blues band The Informers (Hi Brian, Hi Judy!) back in the 1990s. They teamed up with Terry S. to form The Upper Cut with the intention of playing music that they all enjoy, and they hope that you enjoy it too.

Ed was the lead singer and guitarist in renowned London rockers BAD II THE BONE, playing nearly 1000 gigs until their split in 2007. Prior to that he played with Red Road, Good Company and The Flame Tattoo, touring all over the UK and recording with many different artists.
Bass player and backing vocalist Pete Armatage fronted Three State Blues (Locomoto Records) and is a veteran of the music scene having played with Dumpys Rusty Nuts, Wolfie Witcher, National Flag and many other bands since the 1970's-the golden decade of rock!

The Senior Citizen Group meets on a Tuesday and Thursday every week and enjoy a number of activities.
Note:- You need to be a paid up Member of the Branch and Club to go on a waiting list to join any of these groups.
Come and dance the time away on the 3rd Friday of every month.
At the club we have; Crib, Pool, Snooker, Ladies and Men's Darts teams to name but a few.
